भारत, आस्ट्रेलिया और पाक एक ही ग्रुप में

भारत और उसके चिर प्रतिद्वंद्वी पाकिस्तान तथा विश्व चैंपियन आस्ट्रेलिया को 2016 के रियो ओलंपिक के लिए क्वालिफाइंग टूर्नामेंट हाॅकी लीग सेमीफाइनल में एक ही ग्रुप में रखा गया है।
अंतरराष्ट्रीय हाॅकी महासंघ (एफआईएच) ने बेल्जियम के एंटवर्प में जून से होने वाले पुरुष एवं महिला वल्र्ड हाॅकी लीग सेमीफाइनल के लिए टीमों के पूल तथा मैच कार्यक्रम की घोषणा की। टूर्नामेंट 20 जून से शुरू होगा और पांच जुलाई तक चलेगा जिसमें पुरुष और महिला दोनों वर्गों के मुकाबले होंगे।
पुरुष और महिला दोनों ही वर्गो में 10-10 टीमों को दो ग्रुपों में बाँटा गया है। एशियाई खेलों में स्वर्ण पदक जीतकर रियो ओलंपिक के लिए क्वालीफाई कर चुके भारत को पूल ए में विश्व चैंपियन आस्ट्रेलिया, पाकिस्तान और राउंड दो के क्वालीफायर पोलैंड तथा फ्रांस के साथ रखा गया है। पूल बी में मेजबान होलैंड के साथ ब्रिटेन और राउंड दो के क्वालिफायर मलेशिया, आयरलैंड और चीन को रखा गया है।
भारत का पहला मुकाबला फ्रांस से
पुरुष वर्ग में भारत का पहला मुकाबला 20 जून को फ्रांस, दूसरा मुकाबला 23 जून को पोलैंड से, तीसरा मुकाबला 26 जून को पाकिस्तान से और चैथा मुकाबला 28 जून को आस्ट्रेलिया से होगा। भारतीय महिला टीम अपना पहला मुकाबला 20 जून को बेल्जियम से, दूसरा मुकाबला 23 जून को न्यूजीलैंड से, तीसरा मुकाबला 24 जून को पोलैंड से और चैथा मुकाबला 27 जून को आस्ट्रेलिया से खेलेगी।
